Go-Away Birds is an acoustic folk duo — Catherine Ireton and Michael John McCarthy. They first wrote songs together in the summer of 2008, working in Michael John's flat in Glasgow, and have been recording and self-releasing seasonal EPs ever since.
Michael John McCarthy is also the songwriter and guitarist of the Cork band Elephant, with whom Catherine first collaborated.
