About the programme
Selected as part of the 2023 cohort of The SPACE Programme — Ireland's longest-running international multidisciplinary artists residency, created and led by The Performance Corporation. The programme brings together artists whose practice intersects arts and technology, providing space for creative experimentation without pressure to produce finished work.
The 2023 residency included a week at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris — exploring multidisciplinary art practice alongside an international cohort of artists.
Paris residency work
During the Paris residency, Catherine collaborated with choreographer Fearghus Ó Conchúir and visual artist Gabriel Schmitz, exploring the question: what if we composted our old material rather than always generating new?
A charcoal sketch of Fearghus made by Gabriel was brought to life as Fearghus danced around it in grainy, slow-motion footage. Catherine's song The Last Train — originally composed with Rang Suntisuk for Where the Light Falls (Seoul, 2016) — was used to score the film.
