About the project
God Help the Girl is a musical project by Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian. Catherine was discovered by Murdoch and became a central vocalist for the project, performing on 10 of the 14 songs on the album.
The album was released on Matador Records in 2009. A feature film followed in 2014, directed by Stuart Murdoch, in which Catherine appeared alongside Emily Browning, Olly Alexander, and Hannah Murray.
